California Narrowleaf Milkweed

Asclepias fascicularis or Narrowleaf milkweed, a California native plant that is an important food for Monarch caterpillars and attracts a variety of  native pollinators. After spotting the first on Albertson Fire road a few weeks back, I started looking for more on subsequent hikes and found several in the same area on either side of the fire road. Some plants are in full bloom while others are small. These plants bloom into the early fall.
