Costa’s Hummingbird

I lived in Tucson, Arizona during the month of November, 2023. These screenshots are from a video I took at the Tohono Chul Botanical Garden during my visit there. I used my iPhone camera. The white background of a wall behind the action was really helpful with getting some definition and the colors to stand out.

A Costa's Hummingbird in flight, approaches flowers. This gallery of seven photos show a series of inflight shots of a hummingbird approaching and feeding on pink long-necked flowers. The wings of hummingbird sometimes appear partially transparent with the white of a background wall showing through.spaces between the feathers. Because of the speed with at which the wings are beating, the wings appear to be webbed due to photo blur. The hummingbird is primarily bright green with metallic glints. From the neck, ventral side, down the length of its breast it is white. There are fleeting glimpses of rose and purple and blue around the upper neck and side of its head.
